Final notice

Friday 1 July 2011
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Only four days until our first performance and the rehearsals have gone well.
Week 10 Monday 4 July to Thursday 7 July Production Week
Students will report to their classroom at 8:30am each day, as per usual.  On Monday and Tuesday, the buses will leave school for Baycourt at 9:00am.  The students will be in rehearsal all day and will leave Baycourt for School at 2:40pm, in time for buses etc at 3pm.
Wednesday and Thursday will be slightly different.  Students will report to class at 8:30am but the buses will leave school at 10:30am.  There are matinees on both these days.  The students will be back in time for buses etc. at 3pm.
Evening Performances Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 5, 6 and 7 July.
Each evening, it will be parents responsibility to get their children to Baycourt Theatre on time and to pick up at the end of each show.
4:30pm - Leads arrive at Baycourt
5:00pm - Band and soloists present for sound checks
5:30pm - Rest of Actors and Dancers
6:15pm - Choir
9:00pm - Show concludes, please pick your child up from the Green Room at this time.  They will not be allowed to leave the Green Room without their parent/adult.
Each day, your child will require lunch and a water bottle. No lunch orders in Week 10.  They will need to bring things to do during shows and rehearsal.  MP3’s, ipods, laptops, cellphones etc are to be left at home.  Cards, board games, school work and books are more appropriate.  Bring everything in a bag and ensure everything is named. No gum or sweets please to be brought to Baycourt. Make sure you have your makeup on BEFORE you arrive at Baycourt.
As this week is incredibly busy and long, it is very important that your child gets plenty of sleep and healthy meals.  This is helpful when maintaining concentration and patience.  We also do not want any sick performers.
Rules At Baycourt
    • Please ensure that your gear is tidy and in a bag at all times when not being used.
    • When you take off a costume “put it away and hang it up straight away.”
    • Do not touch other people’s stuff without their permission.
    • Do not play with props or other people’s costumes.
    • All rubbish to go into the bins provided.
    • Do not go out of the Green Room without the permission of the “Teacher in Charge”. This includes toilet, make up issues, sound issues.
    • Keep the noise down so that the sound does not carry onto the stage and people can hear their call up.
    • Keep still at the side of stage and DO NOT GO BEYOND stage “legs” (side curtains). If you can see the audience, they can see you!
    • When the stage door is open there is “Absolute Silence”.... you are quiet from the time you leave the Green Room until you return and the door is closed.
    • Do not run in the corridor
    • Please keep the toilets tidy and clean.
    • If you have a mike then assume that it is “live at all times” so don’t say something that you do not want the audience to hear!
    • Listen out for instructions. When you are called for, get to the assembly area quickly and await for the stage manager’s instructions. Assembly area in front of corridor door.
