Tauranga Intermediate School Production 2011
Who Does That?

Notice 1
Friday 1st April 2011
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Our school production is a huge event that draws on the talents and time of a large number of students and school staff requiring the utmost commitment from all who participate in it - this sets the scene for our first notice home.
Your child should be congratulated on being selected to participate in this wonderful biannual event, we are looking forward to putting on another outstanding show this year.  “Who Does That?” can  loosely be described as a Environmental Warrior versus Fierce Fashionista!  We will be putting on five performances (two matinees and three evening shows) during the week beginning the 4th July at Baycourt Theatre (Week Ten of Term Two).
Expectations of students who are involved are as follows:
    • all students will be at all rehearsals unless told in advance that they are not required. (A  rehearsal schedule will follow early next week)
    • upon accepting a role in this production students and their families have agreed to be fully prepared for this role (know their lines, meet costuming requirements, have transport to and from rehearsals and evening performances organised)
    • students will manage their own scripts (learn lines, make adjustments where directed, have these ready to refer to at rehearsals)
We require a $15 production fee from each participant, this assists us in paying for incidentals such as bus transportation to and from Baycourt during the performance week, make up, some costuming and other costs associated with a big production.
Communication is always very important, but will be even more important in the lead up to our performances, largely due to the number of people involved and that they are spread throughout the school.  Students will need to be aware of (and present at) all meetings, communicating commitments and information to home and school and students will need to be in the right places at the right times.  As well as this, regular notices will be sent home and posted on our Music blog (http://tismusic.blogspot.com).  Please contact our Producer Raina Urwin (rainau@tauranga-int.school.nz) if you have any queries or absences to report.
We are looking forward to working with your children to produce one of the best shows in T.I.S history and anticipate your support.  Please return the tear off slip to school as soon as possible.
Many thanks
Carol Storey and The 2011 Production Team
